NEW CLASSES & EVENTS BELOW
The Klingers have many ideas on where KLINGER STUDIO at Nine Pines may take them—and you. As both Jim and Christine are artists and educators, they are creating both art studios and galleries. There is a large barn for performing arts, and a smaller building which is now a studio and gallery. Both buildings can be used for many purposes. The STUDIO/GALLERY - Is hosting art classes, workshops and gallery openings out here again. We also plan to rent our spaces to groups or individuals for their private activities and events. When Christine ran a retail art gallery in King's Yard in Yellow Springs awhile back - Springs Gallery - she hosted several art classes, workshops and other activities there as well. "We've also had a few out here at KLINGER STUDIO at Nine Pines over the years," she said. "So far, we've hosted a jewelry workshop, a sculpture class, a creative writing group, musical jams and rehearsals, and more activities are in the works. There is more to do in preparation for any official opening but we promise to keep you posted on our plans and activities on here, and most likely on facebook too." You can visit us here when we're up and running. But remember - we are only open for events. Of course, life can always change things, but we’ll figure it out as we go - and let you know! FAVORITE ANIMALS IN CLAY
Minimum 2 duos Join us at KLINGER STUDIO at Nine Pines in Yellow Springs for a clay class for parent (or guardian) & 1 child age 5-10. Choose from a variety of animals to make; instructor will help. You’ll be making ceramic animals into wall sculptures; we will kiln fire them for you, and you will paint them. Share creative time together sculpting and painting - and bring home a shared art treasure! Fee: $75 for guardian and child together Clay, kiln firing, and paint are all provided. THE ART OF RAKU
A 2-part Workshop For Ages 16 + Minimum 2 students Part 1 - Wednesday, 10/9/24, 6 pm - 8 pm Part 2 - Sunday, 10/20/24, 3 pm - 6 pm Location: Klinger Studio 1860 Hilt Rd, Yellow Springs, OH 45387 Fee: $50 Instructor: Jim Klinger Join us in a raku experience for students aged 16 and up. No prior experience is necessary and all tools and materials are provided. Raku is a medieval Japanese aesthetic originating from the Japanese tea ceremony. Part 1: Handbuilding - slab, coil or pinch. Instructor can help you decide on your project.
